Do you know Doctor Angelicus?………. Really you don’t know him well at first I didnt know who is that doctor but he is not only a doctor he is a doctor of souls and especially he is a saint that all we know St. Thomas Aquinas!.
The Catholic Church honors Thomas Aquinas as a saint and regards him as the model teacher for those studying for the priesthood, and indeed the highest expression of both natural reason and speculative theology. St. Thomas Aquinas is considered one of the Catholic Church’s greatest theologians and philosophers. Pope Benedict XV declared: “This (Dominican) Order … acquired new luster when the Church declared the teaching of Thomas to be her own and that Doctor, honored with the special praises of the Pontiffs, the master and patron of Catholic schools. St. Thomas Aquinas was born in the castle of Roccasecca located in Aquino old county of the Kingdom of Sicily and in the present day Lazio region in Italy.
Here in my country St. Thomas Aquinas is not a well known saint actually we all heard him in the book of Philosophy but when I develop my own spiritual life he made a big part of it. He inspired me in all his works and his life our saint was also venerated in Anglican Communion and Lutheranism.
When the devils advocate at his canonization process objected that there were no miracles, one of the cardinals answered, “Tot miraculis, quot articulis” there are as many miracles (in his life) as articles (in his Summa)”.Fifty years after Thomas’s death, on 18 July 1323, Pope John XXII, seated in Avignon, pronounced Thomas a saint.
St. Thomas Aquinas believed “That for the knowledge of any truth whatsoever man needs divine help, that the intellect may be moved by God to its act.”
St. Thomas surpassed all his fellow students in learning and virtue he entered the order of St. Dominic against his parents wishes and preserved in his vocation. He studied at St. Albert the Great and in the age of 22 he began teaching and publishing his first own works at the age of 31 he recieved his doctorate he wrote and preach often and was one of the greatest and most influential theologians of all times he is also one of the few Doctors of the Church St Thomas Aquinas was the patron of universities and students………..
To God be the Glory
